NPC's - They are way to strong for me

And I don't know what to do, It's not fun, I'm very limited in what missions I can actually take and complete. tried a mostly harmless skimmer mission at a low sec base yesterday...there was an anaconda there when i got there, tried approaching on an srv by landing a long way out and driving in. Within 2 min of the action starting, the conda pooped out a fighter, and an FGS, Vulture and Eagle showed up. It took about 30 min but i lost all 4 SRV's and the FAS...and I didn't get any of their shields below 2 rings...hell, i didn't even know which way to turn, they were coming from every direction. Not to mention, i never even saw a skimmer. That was a mostly harmless skimmer mission at a low sec base.

It makes me feel like not wanting to play and i want to feel the opposite way. I guess it could be that i don't and never will have what it takes, which would really suck and severely bum me out.

No, thats the very VERY first thing i said. And, im bored with the other stuff...so, I guess I'll quit playing, great job para. I bet ur in customer service in real life, arent you ;)

I guess I wouldnt mind some suggestion on how to handle 5 - 9 hostile npc's, all at the same time, successfully. I mean, what the heck could an elite level mission look like. 70 capital class ships against an srv?

How long have you been playing, Dt?
If your having trouble with combat, try to jump into a nav point or resource extraction low site (where there's plenty of security) and help the locals against wanted ships. You'll have some help and not be the target of every enemy around. Also, keep your cargo bay empty so they don't aggro on you.
Try to keep your ship on the enemy's tail. If you can't, study what strategies they use, and use them yourself. And maybe your ship is not suited for the type of combat you want. An anaconda is slow, but with heavy firepower.
Also, a proper management of capacitor pips is necessary for your survival. Pips to engine allow you to boost often, Pips to weapons allow you to fire heavily on your target, pips to system increase your shield resistance and restore.
Ex: if you are jousting with an enemy, you should have 4 pips on systems and 2 on weapons, no need to boost.
If the enemy turns to you with FAOFF and starts shooting, you can keep firing too, if you have good shields, or instead, put pips to engines and boost to cut the distance, and dodge under him (don't forget to turn up and keep on his tail)
If the enemy is running away, pips to engines and weapons, and hunt him.
If your enemy is in front of you and can't shake you, put all pips in weapons and pound him!

Cheers.

Actually my point was really that this is the Suggestions sub-forum, if you want help with something then ask in either the newcomers or a forum suited to the problem - like Horizons for surface mission problems.

As regards the choice of missions being limited then you can either change location or work to increase rep with the local minor factions to improve availability.

If you find the NPCs are "too strong" for you then that is either due to you taking missions of higher recommended rank or of having too high a rank of your own, in which case you can ask support to downgrade your combat rank - that won't help with mission-specific opposition but will affect the random NPCs you encounter.

If you are just bored with stuff then no-one can help, that is entirely a subjective thing.

Good luck
