Nuenets: an interesting system that may deserve a closer look?

Nuenets is a Federation-aligned system next to Shinrarta Dezhra. It has a custom (as in, not procedurally generated) system description that drew my attention immediately.

It basically says (I'll post a screenshot in the evening) that the locals are not at all friendly and that they appear to harbour a dark secret. The system description can be viewed by anyone on the galaxy map.

I've spent a couple of hours in the system, flew close to pretty much all its planets. I visited a few belt clusters (still don't understand why they exist), I took a few missions until I became aligned with the controlling faction and killed a few boring bounties to see if that had any effect.

I also visited SSSs and apart from the usual traps, I found one recurring pretty much constantly: a federation convoy with three T9s and one vulture. The T9s cary always the same cargo: medicines, HE suits, explosives and a fourth regular item (I think weapons of some denomination).

So far, nothing outside the ordinary.

Anyone knows anything about this system?

Ironically, better for mining than "RES". Lower ship activity, lower asteroid density, just so much safer than RES.

What I don't understand is why they are scannable, require you to be right on top of them, take ages to scan... All for 0 credits.

Sounds like an interesting system, though. Maybe I'll fly there and check out it for myself.

Yes chap I have been over next door lately at LFT 926 doing missions to get allied with the pilots federation. I noticed the description straight away, because it is linked maybe to a secret faction that calls itself ''The Dark Wheel'' Nikos, they hang out at Shinrata Dezhra, and that's a original backers permit system only chap, or you can get a permit to that system when you get to elite on any one of the 3 ways to do it. They have been in another thread started by ''Ben Ryder'' called the dark wheel rising or the dark wheel turns, something like that. Ben has been trying to expand their influence to see if they will ''spill'' over into a neighboring system. So far it has not happened but that is not to say that it will not, go and check that thread that will have a lot of answers for you Nikos me old bean.

I am aware of the Dark Wheel and have a permit for S-D, but I believe Ben Ryder's thread you refer to is about expanding the opposing faction's influence, the Pilots Federation.

No the pilots fed were the only faction he was going to leave alone until the rest were decimated, then the only opposition would have been them and easier to cull. I worked at it for over a week and became allied with the pilots fed but the Dark Wheel were not looking to expand just yet I guess. This system Nuenets still may have a story to tell that has yet to appear until the 1.3 power-play of the 3 factions Nikos and if you have found nothing obvious from the noticeboards even when allied with a main faction, like a secret squirrel mission or something like that, then it's safe to say that so far no one has found what ''secret'' they are..were...or are about to show us CMR's. The will keep on harboring the secret until we squeeze it out of them maybe chap......what do you suggest CMR Nikos....? Got any idea's on how to make them spill the beans chap..?

As to Nuenets, I have been looking at the BB, problem is I am now allied with Federation and the controlling faction in Nuenets, which makes it difficult to get allied with the two opposing ones (basically, mafia factions). I wonder if being allied with them might reveal an interesting mission.

Of course, the trouble is that all stations are 13k light-seconds from the main star so doing missions is a bit of a pain...

Open to suggestions, of course!

I've found a few of those 3 T-9's and a Vulture wings in my home system also, one of the wings had a T-9 flanked by Condas. I was tempted by the T-9's Hafnium cargo... but didn't fancy my chances
