Number of traditional animals left

Thinking of the likelihood we have 5 DLC left, based on recent finds and speculation. And I think it's likely that 1 of the 5 will not be something that is represented now, I'm thinking likely Avians. I don't think we'll get both Avians and fully Marine animals, which would take up 2 of the 5 DLC.

So figuring that out, I'm thinking we have 4 DLC packs left with traditional animal offerings - by that I mean what's currently possible in the game - terrestrial land animals and exhibit animals. Assuming that, we should have somewhere between 20 and 32 of those types of animals still to come, based on animal and 4+1 packs. Wondering what general thoughts on or actual numbers. I'm thinking more than likely we will get at least one more animal pack, and possibly two, but probably not three and definitely not four. Which puts our likelihood of animals to come at either 26 or 23. I'm going to error on the cautious side and go with 23 animals over the four packs (1 Animal pack and 3 4+1 packs).

What's your thought? Not asking for a list of animals here, just a number.

Yeah that’s possible. It wouldn’t be too out of question to do a second aviary pack. Bringing the other 3 packs to between 15 and 24 animals. I’d probably hope for 21 animals then but could see 18 as well

Y'all are aware they could just add content13 or more whenever they want, and the 12 is not a set in stone magical number?
I am sure the number is not set in stone. I think from now on frontier just makes one year Plans (and potentially later even with less time) for planet Zoo. If selling ist still good next year there still could be further packs which delivers us more animals. But perhaps without a major update. There is no competitor within this genre, there is kind of a solid Fan base. Selling more animal packs afterwards could be a win win Situation for frontier because they earn money and we get more animals.

Edit:
Traditional animals missing in the game are some Europe ones, the Leopard, the cabypara, sloth, dromedary, more primates and antelopes/gazelles.

I'd argue also more marsupials, baboon, and saharan/middle east animals.

Good point. We suspect, based on "findings" that there's 5 more DLC planned. Though as someone pointed out that could also be smaller DLC than we've been getting as well, like anniversary DLC with 2-3 animals. But you're right, if the DLC has done well this year and they've already got next year planned out, what if next year continues to sell really well. Unless they absolutely have an internal developer roadmap that they are hard set to stick to, with 3 year years past launch of additional support no matter what, I could see them not ending support for a game that has potential for many years of content. Maybe they just plan it out year by year and say, "okay we'll continue to make support for 2023 as well then". I'm all for that. Honestly I'll be shocked if they continue support into 2024, but in a good way.

For the different DLC's, there is the potential that DLCs can stack in the same "slot", so something like an Aquatic Pack 2 could easily just be added to the Aquatic Pack folder there with the animals and such fitting in for it.
