Wondering what the 1180+ will be. Release date would be too close to the 1180 for it to be a 1080 Ti successor.

That date for the 1180+ has allowed me to finally decide when to buy a new graphics card.

I've had a GTX 970 for about 3 years and have wanted something faster for a year or so, but I wanted to buy the best I could so was waiting for news on the 1180 release. I'd decided to wait 'till the beginning of August to buy, but if something I'd want was coming a few weeks later I'd hold off a bit.

So I'd have been happy to wait just a few more weeks for an 1180 but not only would an even better card be coming out soon, I also don't really want to be a day 1 early adopter and 1080ti's are pretty affordable and available right now so yesterday I ordered an EVGA FTW3 1080ti.

Once the 1180+ is released if it's enough of a step up I plan to get one of those (maybe xmas or spring) & put the 1080ti in my son's PC, which currently has a 750ti & will be getting my 970 as an interim.

With hindsight I should have bought my 1080ti before the bitcoin boom of course
