NW USA challenge.

Hello.

Just wondering if anyone's figured out the strategy for this one on jurassic difficulty. Managing 4.5 million starting money and no feeders until 2.5 stars is eluding me. There has to be something I can do to prevent immediate bankruptcy.

I've tried feeding my carnivores struthiomimus, but they can't catch them and starve to death - and they're too expensive to replace.

I've only tried on Hard so far, and Ceratosaurtus and Dilophosaurus haven't had any problems catching struthies. I haven't hatched carnotaurs yet, but I can't imagine them having trouble and they're the next medium carno available. Who are you releasing?

I can get to the Carnotaurus, but it's at the point where I'm in debt to the point of no recovery. My Ceratosaurus dies of hunger by this point despite Struthies running around all over the place. I can't afford to replace it, then finances spiral down.

I'm thinking there's another trick to this that I'm missing somewhere.

I'm thinking when I give it another go tonight, I'm going to try manually tranquilizing a Struthy for an easy meal.

I must add though, I appreciate this conundrum they put in. I'm getting a frustrating challenge of of it. I've even tried feeding guests to these carnivores lol.

Idk, restarting is a royal paint, but I really sounds like your game is bugged cause the difficulty slider didn't mention "carnivores are more incompetent", lol. Are you maybe making your paddocks too big? Mine are just enough to give the carnivores their area, and it also limits how far struthies can run to get away. Also, struthies are supper cheap, try to avoid releasing "fit" trait and just synthesize more.

Turns out they were dumb after all. I did a complete restart of the challenge and overwrite my last save. In this play, the Struthies found themselves on the menu - as they should be.

It's smooth sailing from here on out with the occasional storm to be a nuisance. Once you hit 0.7 stars you pretty much have this one in the bag.
