There are many myths about this mysterious CMDR. Some say that he is merely a glitch in the UC mapping system and that he uses cheese for jumponium. All we know is that...
he got there before us!
I've long suspected it's actually DB's Commander name. He was always going on about exploring out in the black, I reckon he made ED just so he could go do that and gave himself a Quest class ship.
Is he... actually gone? As in, they fixed whatever the sync issue was?

That's my understanding. Loads of names that I've never seen before and have yet to see his since 2.4 dropped.
That's good to hear. I hadn't thought about it, but I haven't seen any either. But then, I haven't gone to some of the places where I was guaranteed to see CMDR Validating before either.
CMDR Thrust, from Bradford, has already visited all 400 billion star systems in the game. He just didn't scan them, because he thought that'd be unfair.
