It can get a bit tedious to pick individual objects and put them one by one in your zoo so what could be better for the task than having an object painter that is able to mix several objects (EG : different tree types ETC) and paint them with different settings like random Z rotation (or/and X & Y axis rotation) and so on.

This tool would make the life of everyone so much easier and the overall vegetation (or other scattered objects) visual look would be better.

It would be similar to this :

So you mean the same tool in ZT2? :p

I did not play ZT2 so I've no idea.
Oh well in Zoo Tycoon 2 when terrain painting you can turn on an option to have rocks, plants, and trees auto generate randomly as you're painting the ground.
I use it constantly in the game.
You also get a mix of grass and dirt option too which can make enclosures more fun and easier to paint.

Some examples using Grassland, Savannah, and Tropical Rainforest biomes:
Solid grass with all foliage options checked:

Grass and Dirt with only rocks checked:

And Reef to show that it works for water too (Though not all have plants enabled in the water painting tool.):

I kind of enjoy doing the terrain and planting but i can see why some people would want it. I’m not use to seeing zt2 in non modded form anymore.

Lol I like the old style better usually. I just really like the default style more then the RR style. However I have plenty of animal mods, plus the widescreen mod :D

Oh yeah...its the same thing, it's kind of absurd how such an old game had this feature of objects painter whilst PZ does not have it and its much more advanced in general.

Same with a zoo guest mode, Educators and camera/picture mode :p
I find it weird that in ZT 2013/17 you could use the arrow keys to switch from one animal's camera to another's in the same exhibit but in PZ you have to manually exit out of the animal camera view, click on the next animal you want to watch, and then click on the camera view.
Even now I still will hit the arrow keys to try to switch views from time to time.

Although I don’t have a problem with this option being added for people who wish to use it. Like I said I prefer to do this myself but I also see people complaining about not being able to use savannah grass in their exhibits. If they did that’s great but I always felt in my personal zoos if you have a American or European zoo this looks very unnatural. It’s not very realistic in real zoos. Like I said I have no problem to those who prefer it but I actually like the way frontier did this.

I think its just a matter of choices. Do we spend our time creating a very detailed creation tool or go with the more simple/easier to use creation painter?
I think it was done to make it easier for the younger gamers.
Personally I didn't like it but I understand why people like it.

Same goes with other features from ZT/ZT2, they share a the same theme but have a different approach. Basically applies to every game in the same genre from different developers.
