Decided to revisit Open for some trader roleplay, just to see if "things" were still as bad as they were at release.
So I kitted a T6, stocked it with gold, and headed for George Lucas station in Leesti, expecting to be pummeled.
After a few hours of gameplay I have a confession. Open is just like PvE:
Dipped in to the local cz as well, just for good measure:
So conclusion: If my few hours around Leesti are anything to go by, Open has indeed become a more civilized place, where even "lowly" traders can spend their time without being blown out the sky for no good reason.
I like it! So traders, dip back in to Open, you might be surprised. Don't bring more than you can handle to lose though. It's still Elite: Dangerous.
On a subjective side note: Is stuttering worse in Open? I rarely notice it while playing in groups, but it seems ever present in Open?

After a few hours of gameplay I have a confession. Open is just like PvE:
- No more ramming at stations
- No more dumbfire missiles up the rear when entering stations
- No more holdups trying to leave the station
Dipped in to the local cz as well, just for good measure:
- First time: Got shot down by cmdr before I even got to choose a faction.
- Second time: Had my behind handed to me by another cmdr. Good roleplay though. Managed to jump away twice, and almost made it back to port. Good fun.
So conclusion: If my few hours around Leesti are anything to go by, Open has indeed become a more civilized place, where even "lowly" traders can spend their time without being blown out the sky for no good reason.
