Something interesting happened in my brain last night. I've been getting increasingly frustrated by the Engineers and the seemingly-impossible task of finding stuff, with NPCs being superpowered and jumping on me every chance they got while my ship was compromised by the lack of bi-weave shields (silly mistake on my part, selling my ship before realising they'd gone from the outfitting).
Anyway, with the combination of bi-weaves coming back and the realisation that the rarer commodities required by Engineers tend to spawn as mission rewards near other Engineers (no evidence, just anecdotal on my part), suddenly the game seems fun and a lot less frustrating again.
The point? I've flown a single Vulture since it came out back in 1.1 or 1.2 (can't remember which), and I'm amazed how much I've come to rely on the spec being just right. The bi-weaves were a godsend in 2.0, and I've come to rely on those heavily, too. So, when my ship loadout was forced to change with the lack of bi-weaves, I suddenly hated playing the game. Bring 'em back, and I can put up with almost anything (even the RNG!).
Weird.
