Obsidian Orbital is 100% back online.

The goods news. Palin's Thargoid missions are still around.
The bad news is the payout has been reduced. I got 1.4mil + 2 biotechs for a four resin mission.

Another bit of good new, FDev has fixed the scanning data point on the crashed Thargoid scout, it's no longer stuck 500m under ground.

LoL - the Bad News kind of makes the Good news Totally Redundant!

1.4mil payout for 4 Resin... that's less than a tenth of what it used to pay!!! When I heard the news yesterday the OO was operational again I considered going down to look for Palin missions ... Glad I didn't go yesterday now! Another FDev Classic NERF IT INTO THE GROUND WHERE THE THE SCOUT MARKER USED TO BE!

So they reduced the payout for the Palin mission by a factor of 20.

That's a nice thank you for everone that helped to restore the station. :(

Seriously though, it’s a huge kick in the teeth that payouts have been nerfed so much considering the sheer amount of mats that a few dedicated players dragged kicking and screaming to that station.

Well, I getting bored with trading. Maybe I should take my combat fleet to Obsidian Orbital and start blowing everyone away while I support the controlling faction.

I wish FDev's standard devious plan would be to force a Thargoid attack on any port that offers lucrative missions. Would spice up the narrative!

I got ready for the Palin missions last night in case they came back.
Outfitted my Anaconda with 6 newly unlocked corrosive resist cargo holds, loaded all 96 holds with resin, technology, and biological samples, then parked outside of OO.

Using the values in the OP, that would work out to about 350,000 CR per hold, which would give me 33.6M credits for a few hours of work. I can think of more interesting (and legitimate) ways of making similar money in about the same amount of time.

I will save final judgement until I get online and and try it for myself, but the nerf does sounds a little excessive.

Must admit that does seem to be a great big "FU" to anyone who repaired the station. Nice one FD... Why do they seem so insistent on making every activity pay the same.

Does anyone at Frontier actually research the changes they want to make; like actually try to investigate what consequences will come from their actions? Or do they just thumb suck numbers and pray for the best?

Are you sure about the payout? Double sure?

If the Palin payout was the same as before, with these new corrosive resistant holds in my Anaconda I would be able to make between 250M and 500M credits an hour, which IMO is excessive. So I personally agree that some nerfing was called for, but It sounds like they nerfed it a bit too much.

Later on tonight I will try to post my results after delivering 96 holds worth of missions.

Did anyone expect the Missions to come back online at all?
I thought they were gone...even with teh Station back online...I thought the "Storyline" had moved on....
That it was bit of a "Goldrush" to jump on...that passed...not something that would be around for time immemorial!

Well yes I've never done them but 250/500mil an hour is way over the top so will agree with you on that, but it just seems everything is becoming the same and in the end when everything is the same there isn't any real point of doing any of it.

I not that bothered about the payout been reduced. I did find it handy to take my ASPx down to Maia, do one or two of those Palin missions to pay for transferring my big ship down to the Pleiades. I'll just have to fly the big ship down now.

Have to agree here.

At the risk of labouring the same tired old point, if they wanted to "nerf" this, the correct way to do it would be to fix the bloody mode-flipping so people can't just scoop everything, re-log and do it again.
Instead, they'd have to visit different sites, as was (presumably) originally intended.

Course, that's hard and nerfing credits is easy.

Sooner or later, somebody at FDev is going to have to face the fact that they're screwing up huge chunks of the game as a result of their inability to fix mode-flipping. [sad]
