Newcomer / Intro Obtaining Rebel Transmission

Tried my first mission to obtain 2 rebel transmissions. Was able to get one of the elusive buggers but not the second.
I would pick up the signal source while in super cruise (weak/strong signal etc.) then as i approached and was given the go ahead to
come out of super cruise i disengaged, then the signal was no longer visible to me, i searched but couldn't find it? This
happened on three different attempts. Whats up. Can i only capture strong signals? Soon as i came out of super cruise i also opened my cargo door
but nothing on the capture/alignment screen.

Jump into supercruse and search for another USS/WSS/SSS. Eventually you'll spot them and there will be rebel transmissions. They are random and all you need is to fly around and wait for signal source to pop up on your screen.

Just look for another WSS (not one of the others). You dont have to fly about, Engines to 0% is the quickest way to find them.

But i have to come out of super cruise first correct?

When you come out of SC, you should see one/some grey items in your radar. That will be them, or something similar (go and find another WSS)

Be careful with these missions. Delivering the RT to a rival faction will drop your rep fairly significantly with a friendly one.

When i get the mission it says where to eturnr the RT to, can this sometimes be a rival faction?

when doing bulletin missions you should be aware who are you doing the mission for, and who will be affected by it. same thing goes when your mission gets updated.

as you increase your rep with one faction, you'll loose it with another.

If you took if for a rival faction. Keep looking in USS for a mission update to flip to a friendly faction.

Bear in mind you need to be in supercruise to see a WSS. Enter the WSS like you would any destination and the contents will present itself on the scanner. Use the contacts tab to see what is there.

You won't see any WSS flying around in normal space and not in supercruise.
