Occupied Escape Pods in Colonia

The engineer Etienne Dorn in LOS wants 25 of them.
For those not raiding the megaship near the A 1 gas giant in Luchtaine I found a system.

Silicate Vapor Geysers
Arsenic at 2.5 percent thanks to EDDB

I went there for the Arsenic working all the Geyser POIs then started running around the flat parts of the planet in daylight. As I came across POIs I found a high percentage of Occupied Escape Pods. On my first trip after playing with the geysers I collected 13 of them. Unfortunately 7 of them were illegal and Dorn didn't like them.

I went to do other things in Colonia specifically prospecting Antimony. Upon returning my first POI in 1 A hit 3 legal Occupied Escape Pods. So if you didn't max out all the materials in the bubble before leaving for Colonia (which by the way is a great idea) here's a planet that for some reason NPCs like to crash on. I also found that gathering materials in Colonia has a higher percentage than in the bubble.

If there are other hot spots for pods in Colonia feel free to post them. They don't run out like Tritium at a station. Meanwhile I got to Colonia in a an explorer Orca before Fleet Carriers showed up. Maybe I'll hitch a FC ride back to the bubble to get my Corvette and Cutter...

Regards

Pre FC. megaship rescue would have ejected up to 8 at a time from one hatch breaker limpet this was the much quicker way...
There was a mega ship placed nearby for this specific action...

I will be carrying 25 of those pods with me in my FC to Colonia next week.
I found driving around on a the surface of some airless world of a populated system worked too. No surface sites around or anything.

Not very efficient but certainly a change of pace.

Found quite a lot of gold and things too, had quite the full cargo hold on the ship before I'd filled the quota.

Explorca!

That's a great find I have to go back.

The damaged megaship in Luchtaine is what you're looking for. It appears as a distress call in the nav panel and the escape hatch usually has 20-30 in a single pass. Just relog/jump out and back in to reset for more if needed.

Edit- for those concerned about picking up hatchbreakers, this is genuine search and rescue stuff as the megaship is damaged and people are trying to get off it.

Should still work. I did that just after the FC launch.

Sometimes things don't eject properly but it works like 90% of the time.

I wonder if you can 'make' your own .. for example, in some passenger mission, if an unsatisfied passenger demanding to be landed at the nearest station, but not done so, they will eject themselves. Could that be in the form of an occupied escape pod ?
