Oculus and anti-virus conflict

Hey folks,

I had to uninstall Zone Alarm as it was causing problems with the Oculus.

What anti-virus software do you use that doesn't create conflict with the Rift?

Thank you in advance

McAfee here - no such problem....

And first I have ever heard of such issues....

You sure it is the anti-virus sw??

Good luck

Nosh

When I first installed oculus, my Norton 360 totally quarantined everything to do with oculus, I had to revert to an earlier version of windows, reinstalled again asking Norton to ignore everything to do with it. Stupid.

Definitely ZoneAlarm was the issue blocking the ovrservice. I even tried pausing ZoneAlarm but still had the problem, and as soon I uninstalled it, Oculus worked.

I find most anti-virus software to be somewhat virus like. I personally hate Norton with a passion.

I hate Norton as well, It's always been so heavy and slowing down your computer.

Zone alarm is a horrible software anyway, if I recall right it creates system wide hooks. It's like a virus which injects itself into every program on your PC.
It's not a real anti virus.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials (free), Comodo Free Firewall (for outgoing blocks), Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (paid) and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (free). Not had any issues with conflicts and never had a virus or malware! <touch laminate>

I use nothing and it works well ;-)

Then again I can do that because a) I don't download and install anything from dodgy sites. b) I only run Windows for ED and nothing else.
