So, I went to trade in the rift in my type 6. Was having trouble setting up a trade route in the galaxy map. So I gave up and went back to bounty hunting. After a while I decided I wanted to work towards getting a python and I wasn't very good at trading to begin with but I tried to see if I could figure it out.
So without the rift I worked on perfecting my trading skills. After a few hours I set a round trip where I averaged 1.4 million a hour in my type 6. I was pretty stoked so spent my whole weekend trading. After all that I still haven't depleted that trade route.
Then today at work, while I was kicked back in my office contemplating on how legit Elite Dangerous is, it came to me. The route is set, I don't need to keep looking up info on stations to set up a route, I already got one. So I decided to go home for lunch and make a couple round trips in my type 6 with the rift on. The first time I came out of warp in my type 6 was breath taking. Every other ship I had obstructed my view of the stars, but not in the type 6. Oh no, you can see every thing.
An entire star covering up all I could see. Magnificent... I never sat at a star for a long time to refuel my ship I'm just too A.D.H.D for that, I would just take the hit at the pump to fill'er back up. But at the end of my trip, I just sat there next to the star with my fuel scoop active. Rift on, head phones on, and listened to the sound, admiring the stars around me and the one taking up 100 percent of my view to the left of me.
Just staring at that star, and staring through the glass towards the roof of my starship watching as little bits of star dust buzzed by. I felt at peace. Lol man it sounds corny but it's true.
It reminded me of one night years ago when I was walking along the beach, when I ventured into the ocean that was illuminated by the light of the moon. Just feeling the water moving around my body, the sand beneath my feet and the sound of the world around me.
At that moment I felt calm, and I felt peace.
But the beach is so far away and I haven't felt like that since.
Until today, now the beach is in my house!
Simply put, by far one the most amazing things I have ever experienced in my life time.
To the Oculus and Elite Dangerous I say...
Bravo.
