oculus cv1 need advice

hi, just got my oculus cv1 and tried out elite dangerous, could you tell me if I am setting this up ok in options? I have changed to HMD headphones, but when I do that the graphics reset to 1280x768, I do not know if I have to do anything in NVidia control panel or not as oculus don't show as a "monitor" in it, is that resolution correct? as I thought oculus cv1 runs at a higher resolution than 1280x 768, 1st time using VR so a bit of a noob when setting it up in game, I better mention I'm running 980ti sli, thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully help me sort this out

If you've set the 3D option to HMD Speakers or Headphones then that's all you need to do.

The 1280x768 thing applies to the mirror window on the monitor so that's normal.

For the Rift you can essentially ignore everything in the game's display options as they will apply only to the monitor. I have an AMD card but I'm 95% certain you shouldn't have to do anything in the nvidia control panel.

Is it working ok?

EDIT: remember if you are launching the game through the Frontier launcher (as opposed to the Oculus App) you need to set 'Unknown Sources' to yes in the Oculus settings.

If you will be switching between Rift and monitor regularly I highly recommend this tool: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...er-Robust-Settings-Profiler-Switcher-Detector!

Hi marmite.
those graphics settings you mention (1280x768), found in the graphics settings within ED refer to the mirrored display on a pc monitor. Your CV1 will display at the correct settings and fps automatically. The CV1 resolution cannot be changed from within the ED graphics menu but things like supersampling, bloom, blur etc can.
I'm sure others will chip in if I've missed anything.

thank you both for your help, I will not be switching from monitor to rift often, maybe to press f12 to centre view in rift if needed, I had set oculus app to Unknown source but thanks for that information anyway, the graphics seem a little blocky and unclear when near space stations etc but I guess that's normal and I am not complaining, i was not expecting 4k graphics :) , other than that it runs really well
