Oculus CV1 requirements

Well, I bought the first developement kit the day I found out about it. And I fell in love with it. I got easily past the screendoor and poor resolution, even to the point I played iRacing at my normal level with it and loved every bit. I actually built motion simulator for driving sims inspired by dk1. I scripted "gesture walking" and weapon script with Glovepie for two sets of wiimotes and nunchucks to be able to walk, jump and crouch in game environment with actually doing so and hold other set of controllers attached to Wiizapper frame as a weapon and control other game activities. I played Doom 3 through with that setup and it was AWESOME. I never forget the last boss fight, I was so exhausted after all that running...

I was starting HL2 and then... My DK1's screen broke, symptoms of a "haunted rift" where screen updates very slowly. Beyond repair. I did not order DK2, because I thought I could wait for CV1. Now I regret it somewhat, all this time without vr, waiting the CV1 and now I realize that I need to build new computer to run CV1! I should have known better.

But the real question is: can I run CV1 with lower settings and use it let's say in similar level as dk2? I mean, does anyone know if CV1 accepts lower resolutions? Sounds maybe stupid question, but this really bothers me. Almost to the point I'm ready to try to found dk2 to buy...

In optimal case, I would buy CV1 and upgrade my computer bit by bit after that, while still being able to play ED in vr with lowered resolution, but I really need to know can I even use it with lower than officially announced setup?

Cv1 wont be seen as a monitor on the pc at all. So i doubt you can run with lower res. But we just dont know for sure yet.
On the other hand its no hurry really. Cv1 is still atleast 3 months away, if not more. So there is alot of time to get all info you need.
And im sure Oculus will make everything 100% clear way before any preorder or shipping start.
