Oculus Home Idea

I use Oculus Rift almost exclusively. I find it relaxing, both in Elite Dangerous and it has the potential to be relaxing in the oculus home area.

I was thinking that I'd love to be aboard my ship- when I'm in the Oculus home area. Whether it be on in the cockpitt or in the dining area of an Imperial Cutter etc.

I imagine all the 3 D models already exist, so it wouldn't take much.

I would pay for it via the Frontier store if it was available. I think it would be an earning opportunity for Frontier also- as I know ED isn't pay to play and unlike many, who think stuff is for free and businesses owe them , I want to see Frontier do well and earn money.

Anyway, just a thought.

I’ve seen quite a few Elite Dangerous custom 360 views for Steam VR, though I’m a Rift S user and hardly use that Home.

Custom Homes can now be created for Oculus so I wouldn’t be surprised if some creative person had already made something, and I could swear I saw an Anaconda bridge setting a few days ago in a thumbnail...though that might have been SteamVR.

I’ll have a snoop next time I’m in the headset, might be a chance for pseudo-spacelegs

Edit: I’ve only found the background pictures in SteamVR - which are admittedly very cool, one of them looks like the Steam Home is on a pad inside a station.

I think what I may have seen earlier was a recreation of the Anaconda in Unity or UE4 - I haven’t been able to find it, but if so it should be possible to make a custom Oculus Home file from it.
