Oculus Logo removed from Main page ?

I'm pretty sure FD have stated many times that they continue to support all HMDs including the Oculus, Vive and whatever else comes out. The logo change might just be the simple fact that HTC paid for it whereas Facebook refused?

Why for god sake is Frontier supporting something that no body has like the VIVE?????
This section of the forum is done mostly from OCULUS USERS and kept up from OCULUS USERS. WHY WHY WHY??????
They said in the video of 6h, there is a big team doing billions of modifications here and there with testers bla bla bla BLAAAAA!!
They come out with the escuse that there is no SDK 1.0 so we won't implement any Update. But instead they implement FROM ZERO the support for HTC VIVE.
In the game is just axis to coordinate, the traking is done from the drivers OCULUS GIVES FOR FREE!!

I start thinking that for Frontier this section is a rubbishh!t, useless people with useless hardware!!!

Yes i'm upset and Marry Xmas!

DB has been on the record definitively in the last few weeks both in writing and on video stating they continue to work with Oculus in the run up to 1.0 SDK release.

I think it's simply a case of Vive now having fully supported integration into the game. Oculus, presumably until 1.0 SDK, is not in a position to match that at the point of Horizons release.

Since Vive looks like its going the direct route too eventually, Frontier need to solve this mode anyway. And when that happends
the difference betweenn CV1 and Vive implementation will be minimal.

But why not release a support for recent Oculus SDK? You have a entire community testing it for you, to implement it at is best, but they went to the VIVE direction, with any support at all!!! At least, I don't see VIVE users posting. It must be full of hidden bugs.
Is like saying , don't give out the BETA of HORIZON until it's not complete!!
Maybe if we pay them for the implementation of the SDK 0.7 or 0.8 they will do it immediately.

Guys, Independent Developers updated there projects, why can't Frontier do it? Plus they will fall in CV1 development without any acknowledgement learned from the latest SDKs. I cross my fingers, but when SDK1.0 rolles out I'm afraid out expensive will be one of the worse if not completely unplayable.

My guess is they were sort of busy with Horizons. And updating might not be as simple as you think. Honestly, it works fine with SDK 0.5 in extended mode. Do they really need to update it at every SDK for a piece of beta hardware?

You don't see VIVE users posting because the only VIVE users are actual developers. I'm guessing a big chunk of DK2 users are simply early adopters, and greatly out number current VIVE users.

While I didn't mean to make the world is ending thread, I was just curious why the logo was taken down.

The Current Oculus SDK 8.0 is supported, I run Win 10 SDk 8 and I just run Elite with the Rift with no major issue, I don't need virtual Desktop or Steam VR running. Game still needs some tweaks as it's currently off center, and still getting some judder on planets, think the plants still need optimizing.

Busy with Horizon and VIVE support came out.
Yes most are not developers, but just BETA users. As BETA users we inform if there are issues and the Developers fix it, they don't even have to play the game, give out the update and see the flow inside the forums, because from what I understand there are no quality testers for VR if not the owners of the DKs.

And I would like to know, those with win10 are they having SteamVR installed? try to uninstall SteamVR and run the game. if it does is not Elite D. to have SDK 0.8 compatibility , but the SDK 0.8 service to have some kind of "retrocompatibility" and detects the game running.

I don't need or want any emulation like SteamVR I understand does, it just overloads uselessly the PC.

I don't know about FD. But Epic Games has a dedicated team for VR implementation into the UE4 engine plus into doing so they have already added the hand positional tracking. Maybe David hasn't thought about that yet. Also because ED is only steam FD must of signed a contract, that is probably why.
