Oculus Madness .. Steam what?

I have searched and read and read and searched, but, can't find a solution that really works.

Maybe someone can point me towards or update me on something I dont know.

Anyway.. the story & problem

Problem is that some form of VR boots up everytime I start ED.
I have a rift.
If I disable the rift... the Steam VR starts.
I have "unchecked" (inside Steam VR) Start with application/program/etc.

I dont even have this game installed thru steam.

In fact. Ive tried multiple copies on the computer.
One in Oculus Home... one just a regular ED install thru Frontier.

Since... I have deleted everything and just installed ED the original way thru Frontier.

Still.. same problem.
Either Oculus home starts up (solved by turning off the oculus service) or Steam VR starts up (only when Oculus is turned off)

Also.. I have turned VR off inside ED settings in game.

Any other suggestions?

Create a shortcut to the the Elite launcher .exe file and avoid launching from Steam.

In the shortcut file, right-click on it and select "properties", then in the target field add /novr at the end of the string of text.

Whenever you launch Elite from this icon, it will no longer load up Oculus Home.
