Oculus Quest 2 touch controllers unavailable in SteamVR

Hi!

Can someone please help to fix the following issue.
I have Oculus Quest 2 and I'm new to VR and ED. I'm trying to make Oculus controllers to work via SteamVR. As soon as I run the game via SteamVR home I have keyboard and mouse available only. It is critical to run ED via SteamVR because I'd like to use VRdesktop to wirelessly stream game to another room. Reading through docs it seems that it should be working.
At the other hand, when I run ED via Oculus Link Launcher the controllers works but there is no way to make it work in VRdesktop as far as because it supports only SteamVR streaming.

Thank you in advance.

Hello, did you find a fix for this? I also cannot find a way to get the Oculus controller working in VD? I can only get them to register when using link. I am also struggling to find a overlay program that works without running ED.exe in compatibility mode. It seems every time you do, the controllers no longer work in link lol. Appreciate anyone's help.

Actually, ED does not recognize Oculus controllers when run via SteamVR. I've spent considerable amount of time and I found the following solutions:

1) Use wireless joystick instead of Oculus controllers paired with your headset. (Experimental features in Quest2) It's confirmed that it works with XBox Bluetooth controller. I have DualShock4 and I can pair as well but the buttons are mess there. Also I found that some buttons are not working for DS4 so I abandon this idea.

2) VirtualDesktop can emulate Xbox joystick using Oculus controllers. Basically, it is the same thing as if you use Oculus controllers directly w/o VD but the issue is that ED recognize it as Xbox controllers (which is expected). The issue here is that Oculus does not have HAT/POV (direction cross) so you need to basically you need to manually transfer configuration (assign buttons combinations) of Oculus controllers to Xbox controller (It's called Advanced Pad in ED). The reason is because Advanced Pad use lots of combinations which require POV switch.

3) Extension of #2. VD actually can emulate POV switch on Oculus controllers (see input settings in VD) but I think it will be cumbersome to use these combination in the action.

I personally have abandoned the idea and I just use DS4 joystick via bluetooth connection next to my PC.
I'll consider ED VR cockpit once I get more comfortable with joystick game-play.

Thank you both! I set up VR cockpit and that's solved "most" of my problems, its awesome. The only problem i have now using Oculus Touch in Virtual Desktop is binding the A & B buttons dont work. Like B is default interface select but for some odd reason i cant bind A or Y to anything. The only thing i am trying to get bound is the "interface next page"! Anyone have any idea's on it? Thanks again!
