Oculus Quest 2, visual problem

I just started getting back into Elite and played for a few hours without My quest 2 and got voiceattack all set up. Today I decided to go VR with it and everything is perfect, Except I get a definitive line across my HMD headset near the bottom (in the headset seems to be 2 inches up from the bottom) and it divides the clear screen with a not so clear and sort of light purple color. It is like when ED is loading and the 2d screen that moves around until the VR kicks in. Tried numerous setting within ED graphics settings. I am running it with a link cable.
I tried other games with the link cable Half life Alyx and it is fine, also other games without the link cable are fine. So definitely seems to be just an ED occurrence.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, it pretty much breaks the immersion of VR so I will not be playing ED in VR until I can get in figured out.

Thanks in advance

This visual problem?

didn't get much of a fix for it other than he worked with the Oculus support to resolve the problem by updating oculus software, but how ?

No, he didn't provide detailed step-by-step instructions, nor should he. But he did provide a good hint -- repair Oculus software. So, unless you find out exactly what he did... and even that is no guarantee, you could always preemptively uninstall Oculus... make sure you clean up everything on disk and registry, just in case... reboot, and install from scratch instead of trying to fix it piecemeal. Maybe you will get lucky...

I did enter a Oculus ticket to see if I can get some feedback, I won't be able to do much VR this week so I might wait and see if I hear back from them. But your suggestion is an option. Thanks for the reply.

I have a quest 2 with the 3080 and have the same problem. Lower part of the screen gets washed out sometimes. I can open and close the galaxy map to clear it but it always comes back sometimes its good for an hour or so and others it keeps popping up every few minutes. I did a ticket with Occulus this morning. Please let me know if you get a fix and I will do the same.

Download the most recent oculus installer, run it and select the repair option.
