Hardware & Technical Oculus Rift and a Lazy Eye

My left eye is lazy. It doesn't want to get up in the morning. It never does it's share of the work. I've had problems with things like those 3D images you have to stare at (never seen one). And although eventually I want an Oculus Rift I'm worried the money would be wasted because my lazy eye will screw everything up for me.

Anyone here have a lazy eye and used the Oculus Rift?

Hey Jeff;

I have very poor vision in my right eye due to a puncture wound resulting in a detached retina. My lens also had to be replaced with a plastic one.
The surgeon did an incredible job in getting me back any vision at all in the eye. It's incredibly blurry and won't focus, and is slightly wonky (everything in that eye is slightly tilted, like on Sixties Batman sets), but I've gotten used to it.
Like you, I was concerned that the Oculus Rift wouldn't work for me, but recently a workmate got his hands on a Dev Kit 2 and gave me a go.
I was thrilled to discover that it worked fine, even with my dodgy eye.
I didn't have a chance to try it for an extended period, but it was enough to prove to me that the illusion created by Oculus isn't 100% reliant on perfect stereoscopic vision.
I'll be snapping up a consumer headset as soon as they become available!

It's not depending on your eyes as such so it should work fine in games, but don't hold me to that. You will be pleased to know that there are some developers working on games specifically for people with a lazy eye and some have even made strides in helping those people see 3-D images for the first time.
