Oculus Rift Judder - Observation

Hey Guys,

I've been trying to find out what causes the Judder in the Game and something I noticed today may be helpful and I'd like your feedback.

I noticed that in situations where I get Judder (which I find amazing on my system) it seems the GPU Coreclock is clocking itself down, despite my best efforts to keep it from doing that.

I was monitoring the clock speeds when I was attempting overclocks.. and noticed this for the first time.

Even when I run my card at default setttings it clocks my Core down to 975 Mhz every time I am experiencing Judder. SO I assume that's why I lose FPS and the judder occurs.

Why and how Elite is forcing my GPU to clock down I don't know.

MY system specs are in my SIG for your consideration.

I think I read somewhere that the GPU clocks down when full CUDA use is engaged. Perhaps oddly, when the GPU is under full load, it clocks down to manage heat. This kinda works against the logic. It's like an air conditioner shutting down when the weather gets too hot.

Isn't there a performance option which chooses performance before accuracy or something like that. Perhaps that setting may help.

There are numerous threads like the one below about OC 980's in non-VR crashing. Don't know if it is relevant to your problem.

Cheers I'll check it.

This was more a shared observation than a request for help though :)

I'll have a look, but it shouldn't be that.. at full load I've not seen the card go over 60 degrees Celsius.. the Windforce cooling on it is amazing.
