Oculus Rift Looses Connectivity when HMD is adjusted/moved

I posted this in bugs but I wanted to also post it on here since I have not seen something regarding this exact issue. Any ideas?

Description
Screens goes completely dark on Oculus Rift. You can still hear audio and you can still see the screen on the monitor. You can also move the view on the monitor using the oculus sensors still. This is seperate from the memory leak issue that I have seen on the forums for other users. This is probably an issue with the oculus itself, where the cables may be disconnecting somehow inside the helmet but not reconnecting in game, is a problem with the game. It will go back to the oculus Home screen in the oculus rift and I can pick other games and such. I have launched the game through the regular ED launcher and also through the oculus home ED launcher.

Steps to Reproduce
If I readjust the oculus around my face and do not hold the rift and the piece that can be removed from the face plate firmly together, then it will make the disconnect sound and the video feed goes away and does not come back. This happens if I do it after hours of play or a second into the game, as long as I move the oculus around my face. Also, moving the cable that connects to the oculus will also cause it.

I've been getting disconnects today but not noticed a link to adjusting the HMD. I wondered if it was a software issue. Oculus Home updated for me today.

Also could be a loose cable in the HMD.

I am thinking it's the stupid cable. It looses connection when it's moved and then the game doesn't pick up the video again. I know ED suffers from some sort of memory leak and it does loose connection randomly but that's after a few hours and a lot of jumps. I also contacted Oculus to see if they just need to replace my HMD.

Remove the padding, disconnect the cable and wrap some tape on top and on the bottom side of the connector to increase its thickness. This will prevent the wobbling that will lead to disconnection. It worked for me

I've been getting a lot of disconnects over the last week or so: Start PC and launch ED with VR. Almost 100% of the time it will 'disconnect' after about 10 minutes, with the game still running on the 2D screen. Oculus Home flags it and the HMD immediately reconnects. Shut down ED and launcher and try again. On the second attempt it may fail again, or go for slightly longer. By about the 3rd reset I can play as long as I wish.

Altogether very odd. Updated the NVidia drivers but it doesn't really make a difference, so perhaps it's an OR software/firmware issue maybe?

I experienced the same problem when every I touched the headset in the top front region, as when removing the OR headset. Oculas accepted this as a fault and have sent me a new outfit, have yet to try it out.

I had a similar problem and couldn't work out what it was. Turned out to be an issue with wifi adapters. I don't know why, but it was causing some Oculus process to crash, hence the HMDs going blank. I disconnected my wifi adapter and the Xbox One controller wireless adapter and the problem went away.

though it is worth to update here,

Eventually my Rift stopped working, after several cable resetting at HMD end due to disconnections. Basically, just the amber led on but no sign of life from the 2 rift's monitors. I ended up getting a replacement unit, arrived this afternoon, and it works flawlessly
