Oculus set up. Good. Now, what do I need to do to play in a 2D screen?

As per the title. Maybe it is a silly thing that I have missed, but after all the set up for my Oculus DK2 I can not find a way to play the game in 2D again. I d like to check on the new pretty graphics and also I need 2D to properly work on the Spanish text translations.

Even if I shut down the Oculus app every time I fire the game the Oculus app will start again and my DK2 aswell.

I have tried deselecting the "known applications" check at the Oculus app. I have tried deactivating 3D in the game graphics manu. All to no avail. Every time I launch Elite the Oculus app and the Oculus will fire up irrespective of what I do.

Surely there must be a way to opt to play in 2D that is easy enough if needed? What am I missing?

Thats funny, I finally got around to setting up my DKII yesterday as well :p

Spent an hour driving around on Beagle Point with it :D

In order to play in 2d again, you need to change the 3d settings in graphics to off

Tried that alredy but the pesky Occulus aplication and sensor keep starting up, and if I close the app it also shuts down Elite.

Yes, the app will fire up anyways. It is as if it has a life of its own. Spooky. I dont know, maybe it was dormant in my app tray.

It sits in the app tray - make sure you quit it.

Also - UNPLUG the sensor and the Rift. If they're not there, it won't go into 3D mode as the Oculus app can't find them, so won't then start.

Then you need to pop it out of 3D in options, and you should be set :)

when you change the setting, did you confirm? it should ask you if you want to keep the setting. suggesting never tried

switching 2d vr

give EDDS a try (Elite Dangerous Display Switcher v0.4)
works fine for me

(in addition you can easily change the GUI color)
