Oculus Touch bundle gets permanent $400 price cut!

Excellent. It's getting easier and easier to convert/convince my friends.

Indeed. Console price was the cut-off point for a lot of my friends when Oculus was first announced, launch price was too steep but now the dream has become a reality!

Well ... apart from the high-end GPU requirement (and ASW has done a bit to reduce that slightly).

i got the rift before the Touch controllers were available. They are still listed at 120€ here. I hope they get a price drop as well...

It looks like they have confirmed that Pimax 8 k will bleed this market :)

The Pimax 8K is twice the price of the Rift now and still in Kickstarter. This is for a HMD+2base stations+2 controllers bundle. The Rift also has solid support for it's controllers since it's DKs have been in developers hands for years. Whatever final price Pimax 8K reaches when considered a commercial unit, it isn't likely to replace the CV1 at this price point. This is not to say that the P8K won't find it's market share at it's price point if it's ducks all line up. Remember when the Rift and Vive came out they were $800, as well, but they had to slash prices to kick life into sales. I wouldn't be surprised if by the time the P8K finds itself pricing to the mass market we will be looking at a lot of 2nd possibilities from the other players. I am not saying it won't be worth the price, Just that the price won't have P8K stealing the market.

I hope the vive can come to this sort of price point, though I have a feeling Oculus is being subsidised to get out there at this sort of price. Good and bad, of course. regardless of what you think about FB getting itself embedded in your gaming PC (I have a Rift myself), I would like to see more competition.

Also, I want a Vive because I've found it's more comfy on my face - but not at double the price!

I am looking forward to the future of VR though.

BTW - how do you claim the "free" games from the summer sale? I can't seem to find instructions anywhere. I bought mine from Amazon after the Oculus store repeatedly cancelled my order (for no good reason).

Interesting. I have not hooked up the new one yet (my Rift is in my second home, and I was messing around with my PC last time, new graphics card, cooler etc... And did not get a chance to get the rift going before I had to come back to Aus.

I'm seriously looking forward to seeing it on the 1080ti, my old Rift was fun on the GTX1080 of my Aussie rig, but really want to see how it looks with the Ti.

Kinda tempted to get an EK water kit for my SE Asia PC, actually...
