Oculus Touch has arrived

My Oculus Touch pack arrived here in Perth yesterday 7th Dec - but I can't get it yet... it's scheduled for FedEx delivery on Monday 12th Dec...
Monday... seems like an eternity away!

Rang and asked for a pickup (as the airport FedEx office is only 15-ish minutes away.
FedEx hopes it will be ready for pickup tomorrow as they haven't unpacked that container yet (presumably an air freight container as it only took a day to get to Perth from Hong Kong!).
Pickup tomorrow night is a lot better than delivery Monday.

OK, once I have 'hands', what should I be looking to play over the weekend?
I'm hoping to try Onward, Dead and Buried.

Any other suggestions?

I received mine 2 days ago, Joysticks and Elite are packed away. I played a lot of stuff and destroyed one lamp(in real life). Make yourself a very good space!!! HAHAHAHAHA See you on VR and maybe a challenge on Unspoken!

Im treating myself for christmas... unless someone else gifts me (ha!)

Wonder if/how they'll implement touch into Elite.. what with the way you end up looking behind you now and again in VR, paranoid someone is sneaking up on you (at least I do!) it would be great to grab a blaster on my hip and be able to pop bridge invading thargoids.. maybe one day! Maybe space legs will use them...!

Does it feel like its within touching distance?

Not that I'm jealous...

Anyone wanting to buy me a CV1 + goodies for Christmas will win a free banning from the forum....err or something like that... :D

The free sports games are very realistic. I can't do any of them and I just stand in the middle of the court with everyone jeering at me.

All I needs now it the sarcastic voice of the gym teacher telling me I've got to play in my underwear because I forgot my kit.

The Touch controllers have brought VR to the next level. They have taken the time to perfect a system of interacting with VR in its current form.

The First Contact intro will have you smiling and laughing like a kid.

The Unspoken is amazing fun. Nothing is more awesome, yet more rediculous than battling with wizard spells in VR.

Dead and Buried comes free and is great.

I'm personally hooked on Fruit Ninja VR.

Medium and Quill are sculpting and drawin apps that will blow you mind as you create and see what others have done and then ponder the possibilities outside of gaming.

I would really love to get some more VR friends as I have none :(

Maybe we can start a group, united in love of VR and Elite.

I managed to punch a wall within 15 mins of using it - Trying to pop ballons in Funhouse. Then later I managed to launch my HOTAS throttle across my table playing baseball. So far ceiling fan is intact :)

However much space you have, it's never going to be enough :)

Add me if you like. I haven't added anyone either but I'm sure the lists will fill up with all these multiplayer games.

I would give my highest recommendation to Vanishing Realms, if it supports the Touch. It's the very best example of room-scale VR.

Onward takes #2.

Doom 3 BFG edition has a mod that makes it work very well with motion controllers. It looks decent and runs great! It takes #3.

The archery game in The Lab takes #4. It's hilariously fun and challenging.

Enjoy, dude; looking forward to see you and other Oculus users in Onward. I go by Caboose.

I was lunching Octopuses in the Nvidia funhouse to!! HAHAHAHA

I actually don't know how to add people on the Rift. In Anycase I'm "Wolfox" also there.

Can anyone suggest any good SteamVR titles other than Doom 3 BFG, Onward & Solus Project. I don't do games with enforced comfort modes such as teleportation or snap turn only, so that rules out Budget Cuts, Jobs Simulator and from what I have read - Vanishing Realms. Unless things have changed and more immersive locomotion options were added to any of those games.

Last night i setup my motion controllers and played The Unspoken, it was fantastic fun and i reccomend all Oculus/touch owners to try it :)
