oculus touch - with oculus quest and virtual desktop

Hi everybody,

I just buy ED, and I'm trying to make it work with quest via virtual desktop...
I'm used to VR games, playing halflife Halyx, walking dead, bonework, etc.

But I'm totaly stuck in the first minute of the game.
I can launch the game, I can go into launch menu BUT with mouse and not with oculus touch.
And if I start the game, I have absolutly no control. Oculus touch don't work, mouse or keyboard don't work..........

I read a lot of post in this forum but still can't figure out how to play....

Please, I was so happy to play ED...

Thanks in advance
(And sorry for my english, I'm french...)

Hey

Start quest, start VD
In VD start Steam VR
Now start ED from the launcher
Now click left oculus button to open VD and select VR

now you should have mouse and keyboard control . Not sure about the controllers as I don’t use them I use a HOTAS

Thanks for your answer.

I've tried. I have mouse and keyboard in the ingame menu.
I can change option... (In these options, I don't see any controler, I can just use "mouse and keyboard")
But when I click "start", mouse disapear...

I just find a way but it's not perfect : I check "emulate a gamepad" in VD, and with that, I got some working command.
Is it the better way?

To be honest, I'm a little disapointed... If was thinking that I can use and touch buttons in the copkpit.

(Maybe I will try to buy a hotas... What do you advise? I want something not expensive and well compatibility working
But really : I prefer to play with mouse and keyboard if I can)

There are too many situations in ED where use of a mouse becomes non-viable in VR. You will find your mouse cursor either vanishes or worse, "isnt actually pointing where you think it is"
You will need to make sure that your UI navigation controls are mapped somewhere and use those - they function in the start menu.

Thanks again for responding.

I know that. But I don't have any mouse, it mean I don't have any mouvement of the ship...
I've just try to make something with an oculus touch in right hand, and the keyboard for left hand... This is not great at all because joystick are so little that I really don't have good precision to pilot.

EDIT : I absolutly don't know what I did, but mouse now work... I made the .exe file in windows 7 compatibility mode, so oculus don't launch. I can't say it's that, but now it's ok. I play with mouse and keybord, mouse only to pilot.

Anyway, thanks everybody!!
