Odd behavior with passenger on-board.

I have recently been taking a few passenger missions just to see what the score was with them and all was going well, slow but well and then I took my first mission with someone who didn't want to be scanned (listed as did not like and would not be happy if they were). I thought not an issue as I was fully ;legal and once out of dock it would be fine, maybe get scanned on the way out but just the once shouldn't been a disaster as far as the mission profile went.

Little did I know, I assume this is the case because I didn't get a chance to do jack before getting killed after first being scanned and then being asked to stand down. Stand down from what I was thinking, I didn't even have weapons deployed. The only clue I had regarding what had occurred was a couple of messages saying my passenger was unhappy (deceased).

Will not be taking any passengers who say anything negative about being scanned unless at an outpost where you will never be scanned on leaving.

Now I am assuming this is game-play as intended but it does seem a trifle harsh and unexpected. If the trip request had said MUST NOT BE SCANNED I would have avoided it but you get scanned so often on leaving dock that the relatively mild wording lead me to assume there was a little leeway in how much scanning would produce a profoundly negative effect.
