So, I was flying to Dalton Gateway in LHS 3447 to collect a bounty last night.
I was interdicted by an Alliance Enforcer, whom I dispatched, and I then returned to supercruise. A few moments later, the computer warned me that my chaff launcher was malfunctioning, which was odd as the Enforcer didn't even get my shields down. I opened my modules panel, and watched as the modules on my ship disintegrated - both chaff launchers went to 0%, as the rest of my ship started to go along with it - FSD, distributor, life support, etc. I understand that it is similar to how Unknown Artefacts affect ships - after the chaff, the next module to go was the cargo hatch.
The strange thing is that I had no cargo on board. I don't do UAs/meta-alloys either.
Anyway, I jumped to a nearby system, which stopped the damage occurring, jumped back to LHS 3447, and landed at the surface base closest to the ingress point. After repairing and collecting the bounty, I moved on to Dalton Gateway again, but this time there were no problems.
Has anyone else experienced this? Was it a glitch, or something else?
