Odd issue with Gal Map - Tearing and Bluring

Hello all,

Was sailing through the universe tonight on my rift, when I realised I was actually within plotting range now of Colonia, so entered the name, and hit the enter, got the target on the map and selected plot route, but here's the weird bit. The screen started tearing and blurring, and became unresponsive, displaying the hour glass. I had to hit escape to exit the game. Reloading has no effect, error still present.

Anyone else seen this? Been using the rift for nearly a year with this computer setup and this is the first time I have had this problem, or really any problem.

UPDATE: Just tried this in non VR mode and although I didn't see the tearing or blurring, the whole galaxy map slowed to a crawl making it almost impossible to select stars or plot routs (or create bookmarks). Is the galaxy map on a seperate server?

Depending on how far away you are it really isn't that weird.... long plots make FPS plummet and it's just a more jarring experience in VR. I don't think it depends entirely on your PC specs so I wouldn't assume it is your setup; However...

From my experience the Galmap is where CPU power makes the most easily noticeable difference. It ran like an absolute sack of spanners on my old CPU and was much improved with my new CPU. I fear I sound like a stuck record and loads of people will say CPU power doesn't matter, but it does.

I have an i7, will check which one later, but I don't remember seeing too much cpu activity.

I am a long way from the bubble though...

I continued to have this problem, then I found some of my graphics settings had changed, not sure why. Anyway, changed galaxy map from medium to low and that seems to have helped.

Just posting this in case anyone else runs into this problem.
