odd: new outpost in LHS 3006 system

So, LHS 3006 has been my haunt of late (Canyon chase fun), and I noticed something new in system:

while its nice to see systems "grow" economically and all that, its odd that the outpost isn't orbiting anything (ok, maybe its orbiting the STAR)

Its not orbiting Vulcan (which is 72 ls from arrival point), and after going there, it is truly a lonely outpost in the middle of deep space.

..weird.

Has anyone else seen an outpost just orbiting all by itself before?

hmm been wondering the same, youre welcome to come out to san and assist us i think ive seen a new planetary base added, but we could all be made, suggest u bug report it on the Fdev forums

Yeah, the "+++" sites have increased as well.

Don't think its a bug- maybe a result of a booming economy. But with lack of other planets in system, I guess they have little choice on where to expand to.

I've always wondered why so few stations orbit a planet. 3 stations around earth....3? I'd think there would be waaaaaaay more.

i have seen a few planets on an orbit around nothing whilst also orbiting a star. those confuse me.

i have also seen 2 planets in their own little orbit arround nothing lol. just had to wonder how long untill those 2 collide with each other, or even if they will ever collide and how did that happen. But they werent orbiting the star at all.. just each other.

i mean physically it could happen. and there are so many opportunities for it to happen that logically it must happen.
but the chances of me seeing it should be pretty slim. Still its nice to see. i just dont get why they werent also orbiting the star. they were just kinda orbiting nothing around a central axis between them and not orbiting the star, i guess they could be attracted to each other by the exact same amount so travel towards each other endlessly in a circle like a dog after its own tail.. but why not orbit the star... why confuse me.
