While we're waiting for ED there's a new indie game up on XBL called Odyssey 3011. I downloaded it and it's actually ok for the price, borrows heavily from Elite. Worth checking out anyway; there's a demo.

heh I've lost quite a few hours (days?) to this already
Have to say that the xBox controller really suits the game once you have decided how you want the controls set up. Makes dogfighting fun rather than a chore
Haven't got too far into it yet - currently trying to upgrade my ship so I can give the Thargoids a run for their money (yes they are lurking in hyperspace as per the original Elite!)
This is a very well-crafted game which pushes all the right nostalgia buttons but also adds some new touches which make it engaging and worringly addictive to play
Plus it was done indie-style - not some corporate cash-in
Got to be worth a couple of quid/dollars of anyone's money :smilie:

Game does not look to bad but I don't have a 360, recall that there was another Elite type game on the 360 called space pirates of tomorrow.
