Odyssey Bio/Geo hunting

So obviously Frontier dropped the ball on finding these sites and luck seems to be the main factor, I assume. Completely stupid as it really doesn't pay much for the trouble and is next to no help compared to Horizons locator.
That being said does Frontier even care about this terrible planet finding idea?

I do have one primary question though.
If you're lucky enough to find the material, 3 samples I guess to turn in, is that it or can you find or can you scan more from another planet and still turn new scan in or is it just a one-time find and that's it or, as an example such as a Lava Spout, can you scan another Lava Spout and turn it in or even get another option to sample it again on another planet?

Sounds like you tried it for five minutes and then decided to write some biased post, but here you go.

Yeah, there's no ball dropped here. The guide linked by Drop is excellent. It's not chance and luck. It's using the tools and experience.

But to answer your question, you only need and can only sample one biological once per planet ( with the three samples). You can also scan using the composition scanner from the SRV for extra credit. Geologicals on the other hand can't be scanned by the handheld scanner so there's no point in finding three of them.

The composition scanner will give you credit per codex entry. So the same geo in two different galaxy sectors will also award codex entry credits.

So once found in one galaxy I would have to move to another galaxy and not another planet in the same galaxy?

Jesus, I don't remember forums be so rude. They used to be helpful instead of being crucified for asking a question.

Sorry I guess.

Re-read your first paragraph and come back to me again about being "rude", despite linking you to a perfectly viable thread right away.
Biologicals can be scanned with the hand scanner once (with three samples) per planet for credit at Vista Genomics.

Both geologicals and biologicals can be scanned once per galactic sector with the SRV composition scanner for codex credit at the redemption office/administrator office. Please note however that all colour variations count for this, so Stratum Tectonica - Mauve is a different codex entry and credit to Stratum Tectonica - Lime

Scanning the same bios 3 times on more than one planet even in the same system will give you the Vista Genomics reward for scanning and if you are the first person on that planet to scan the bio the first discover reward, but you have to scan it 3 times per planet, the same bio doesn't carry across to the next planet. Codex discovery however only apply per sector, so one sample of bio per sector in the codex, but multiple rewards from Vista Genomics can be had.

Adding to what was said, geological stuff is not treated differently in EDO than it was before. It's still very much worthless, and not part of the expansion. Only plants.

There is one type of plant which only grow on fumarole though.

A quick tip that really helped me deal with some of the ugliness of these forums... Click on the user's name to the left and select "Ignore". There are just a few people here that bring the majority of the toxicity and filtering them out has really helped as this "Ignore" feature applies to the entire the forum.

Just a thing to keep in mind, the old bio on airless Horizons planets can also be scanned using the scanning tool the same as the new bio, so don't skip them because you think they aren't scannable!

At the very least he should have finished the corresponding tutorial first. 😝

So just entertain me here for a second, but you think "FDev dropped the ball (...) completely stupid (...) terrible idea" is fine, but "you could also just try and find out" is toxic?
