Odyssey content is too disconnected from the main game and useless NPC mission givers.

All the materials you can get on foot you can't use for your ship and vice versa. You can't do Powerplay on foot or community goals. Basically all you can affect both ways is only a money and influence, and money gained on foot is meaningless in comparison to a ship gameplay. So as soon as you upgrade your ground equipment there is no point in foot gameplay. I think devs should do something about it
And regarding NPC mission givers. You should be able to negotiate the deal you want, like what materials you will get or atleast what they are offering must be much better than what it's on mission board. Otherwise what's the point to even talk to them. I hope i will be able to negotiate rather than just push for a little increase in money. Considering that 50% of the people are already a billionares i don't think many people care about the money much, especially if it's such a puny handouts. I think reward negotiation similar to Battletech would be perfect where you will negotiate the amount of points and if negotiation is succesful you choose a rewards by spending these points on a trade screen choosing from offered materials, money, reputation. And with such system you could better balance the mission payouts by destributing the reward points for stats such as distance to fly, type of mission, enemy difficulty, if it's illegal and a faction reputation

I think you can get more than on the board - I had one offer me 3 Power Regulators last night, and I don't think I've seen more than 2 from a mission on a board. I was kinda hoping the NPCs would offer different mats, for instance the famed Smear Campaigns, but no sign so far.

The simple fact that a new commander starting in Odyssey is totally isolated from the Horizons' new commander tutorial and starter area really underlines that Oddity is a totally separate game, bolted-on "for reasons".

I can see why they have all the Odyssey stuff separate from a progression point of view. Everyone starts on the same level (except for the millions and billions of credits)

But they could have had a little crossover at least. Maybe engineering recipes didn't need an entirely new set of them. They could have partially used the existing materials. You'd still need to hunt for some new stuff, but you can use up the vast reserves of Horizons tier stuff you already got.

However, it's (mostly) par for the course that a new feature in this game doesn't integrate well, or at all, with existing stuff. You get used to it...
