Odyssey crash after using map

EDO is crashing every time I try to use the map. This bug started yesterday (11/30) and still in place. I can't use the map anymore. Does anyone have the same crash bug?

I had this issue yesterday in San Tu. Everytime I scrolled the system map - sound looped, then CTD. Crash report sent to Frontier. Notably that system has a heck of a lot of fleet carriers on the map.

Of the three times EDO has crashed on me, TWICE it happened while using the Galaxy map (the last time it happened I was checking import prices). There is something going on with the GalMap. But it has not been so bad for me that it happens every time I use it.

System Map crashes for me fairly often but I've never noticed any common theme in where it happens. It's usually a few seconds after opening it, the sound hitches a bit then it crashes to desktop.

CTD on the system map just now, but only after playing for a while. It wasn't upon opening it, but clicking on a planet.

I play for a few hours each and every day (retired) and have now had at least 50+* post crash FDev pop-up white report sheets to complete and which also attach my rig specs and my DxDiag File for the Dev's to delve into. ALL these particular reports came about following System Map crashes.... invariably due to innocently clicking on an item in the System Map. This Bug/Crash must be extremely well known to the bug-hunters by now (hopefully**). o7

*NOT an exageration!!!!

** I believe this particular crash/bug is now featuring on the CM's ''Top 20 Bugs List'' they regularly update and show on their streams. o7

Yep, I believe the CTD Thread that started after Update 8 was because of the huge influx of crashlogs that were getting sent in from this very issue. I'd be surprised if it isn't fixed in U9.

Ok thanks. I'm crashing very much. And my comp is a solid RTX 2060. Idk what's going on.
I have crashes all of the time. I filed an issue, and voted up any and all issues related to this. It's game-breaking as I use the system map A LOT. I'm not playing again until it's fixed or someone at FDev can explain to us what is going on!

Then you're better off opening a ticket with customer support so you can have a bit more direct contact with the developer.

I have the occasional crash in the galaxy/system map and FSS, but this usually only happens once per session then it works fine from then on. The odd day it has crashed a few times and I stop playing for then and take a break, come back later and it's fine. I mainly attribute it to networking issues since I am on a slow connection and it plays up regularly and it appears that web pages are loading slower around the same time. I am assuming that dropped networks packets are causing a problem in the network stack in the game, that's not an unusual occurance for software that relies on being online full time. It sometimes happens with LOTRO and BDO but they seem to deal with network outages more robustly being server based rather than P2P and I can sometimes be disconnected from the internet and then reconnet anything up to a minute later in LOTRO and resume playing (if I haven't been killed by mobs in the meantime that is, that's one downside of server based MMO's).

Of course this is not to say it's the same issue for everyone, but I always fill in the error report to give FDEV as much info as possible.

My laptop also has a RTX 2060 card............wierd

Edit: Boy!! Some of you guys & gals really have some problems when playing this game!
Like hems303, I'm retired & play daily for hours on end, I can't even recall the last time the game crashed me to desktop....it's been THAT long.
Maybe I'm lucky & someone in the Dev team is running ED/EDO on the exact same system as me, thus very few issues ;)

Yeah I have a RTX2070, while I as mentioned do sometimes have crashes, they aren't as bad to the point of discouraging me from playing, some people have no problems, and some lots more, that's why it's important to always send off the error report, so that FDEV can get as much info as possible to help them fix it!
