Odyssey crashing whenever I try to setup keybinds.

Hi been trying all morning to figure out what is causing the game to crash whenever I try to set up keybinds. I have zero issues with Horizon.

I've uninstalled, cleared out all files/folders from the various appdata folders. Tried both Steam or the standalone launcher. I was able to launch and get into the Beta and play then so no idea what could possible be causing the issue.

Pc Specs is 3950x, X570 Aorus Master on latest bios (F33j) Sapphire Nitro 64+ on latest drivers (21.5.2) Windows 10 on latest update. Installed on a M.2 SSD.

Sent in crash reports each time it was happening as at first I thought it was the on foot controls causing it when I was on the planet. But then found it to be happening on all the control sections.

Same here!
I am able to change settings in all other sections, but if i want to go the the keybinds section e.g. the general or on foot controlls it crashes immediately!
Submited multiple crash reports with the description. hopefully a quick fix is incoming.

I suggest you follow my bindings guide which is now a bit dated as odyssey works on version 4.0.binds
which if you follow my guide should create a version STRONTIUM DOG CONTROL.4.0.BINDS if followed
at which time you will confine version 3.0 to backup
see if that helps

lost your binds? want hasstle free backed up binds look no further

keybindings can reset if you visit the control section without one of your usual devices used to play the game ie hotas , xbox pad etc not plugged in or at that present moment is undetected by windows as it thinks your just using keyboard and mouse it simply rewrites your binds for you...

(on a sub note in that vid did I hear a usb device disconnect? as if that happens unintentionally whilst playing elite that is bad do do)

thanks for the link strontiuim dog.
currently i do not have an old profile, and i am unable to use the mouse/keyboard in first person mode, the tutorial shows only, press the "??" key to walk forward (something like this.) and then going to the input settings, the game crashes hard. ingame and directly from the main menu.

currenty trying a complete reinstall, removed all old elite folders manually, maybe this helps

hi, i had this problem too and to resolve it i have delete the dirs "Frontier Developments" & "Frontier_Developments" from my AppData/Local profile

X570 USB motherboard issue happens with all my games but never affects any input devices. It's well known but that has never stopped Horizon from being played from last year and today. The Beta there was no issue either as both my sticks worked fine, same as keyboard and mouse.

Will give your method a shot but my keybinds was already edited with the <Root PresetName="STRONTIUM DOG CONTROL" MajorVersion="3" MinorVersion="0"> from using AussieDriods Warthog setup.

I've since cleared out all the keybinds, any files from appdata before reinstalling the game again to try and the issue persits so made the video on it. I'll give it another try tomorrow since there is a update that isn't ready to be grabbed for the launcher at the moment.
