I just got the Odyssey+ today. I got the game to launch but I only see it in the 'house' clicking on desktop. I can't seem to make it go full screen and see it as it should be, I am see it as a window on the desktop. Any and all help greatly appreciated. I launch the game from the Frontier Launcher and not using steam (though I have it registered with steam). Is steam a must have or can I use it without?

Hi Calebe,sounds like you've done some of this already but the notes here might help:
Installation:
Plug in your WMR headset to an HDMI port on your graphics card and a USB 3.0 or 3.1 port (blue)
The Mixed Reality Portal will install. When complete close the portal
Install Steam if you need to (Note: this is free although you will need a Steam account. However, it does NOT matter if you own Elite: Dangerous on Steam or from FD directly to be able to use VR in game)
Within Steam search for and install Steam VR
Within Steam search for and install Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR
When complete reboot.
Run Elite, go to Options, Graphics and change the 3D setting from None to HMD Headphones and enjoy (Note: This is NOT under display options but lower down on the front graphics page. When you do this and start ED, SteamVR and the Mixed Reality Portal will automatically start.)
You can turn on motion reprojection by editing: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\resources\settings\default.vrsettings" . See the description here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...enabling-motion-reprojection-for-steamvr-apps
Note that you can also turn on an indicator in the headset show when motion reprojection is running in the same file. Both are done by removing the // in front of the lines:
"motionReprojectionMode" : "auto",
"motionReprojectionIndicatorEnabled" : true,
It's best to use SteamVR's SS setting over Elite's HMD or SS setting as per HeaveyGroovez excellent post here:
- SteamVR, click on the version number to show the menu, click settings and video
Thank you for the reply, that is what was missing. I did not have the option for (HMD) Headphones. I downloaded SteamVr and it said to plug in my headset (or words to that effect). I wiped my C: Drive reinstalled everything then installed SteamVr. Same thing. So removed SteamVr again and reinstalled it and it worked, No idea what changed it was a fresh install of Windows 10. In any event, it worked was able to chose the (HMD) Headphones, and was amazed at what I was looking at. VR in this game as you all know is amazing. So thanks to the advice I got it working, never would have thought to use SteamVr, but it seems that made a difference when it saw the headset. Wht it didn't the 1st time or after a new copy of windows no clue. But now working but the Mic wasn't for voice attack. I will fix that today. My thanks for the help. Fly safe.
