Newcomer / Intro Odyssey - how to access new settlements

The Odyssey update included many new surface settlements - these are listed in the System Map under 'Features'

Landing at many of these, you still need a spacesuit to walk around, as your ship has actually landed on the surface of the body, and the 'settlement' is a collection of the surrounding buildings.

How do you get inside these buildings? (legally, I mean! )

Some are open to the public. Others you need access codes for. Some can be entered legally. Some cannot. There are restricted areas that are always forbidden to enter.

If it's not a restricted area you can also follow someone in and steal everything have a look around.

It's only illegal to enter restricted areas if you get caught.
