General Odyssey Improvements Needed.

This is a list of Odyssey annoyances listed not as elite or dangerous changes but quality of game play changes. Nothing suggested makes the game play less elite or dangerous.

1. If I can't take a transport to a crash site because it's not registed as a drop site then why do criminals get a free pass dropoff to the site. I shot the ship landing and got a bounty. The ship should be a criminal ship not a transport ship.

2. The SRV controls are still a mess. Put a stronger engine in the thing to prevent surges at low power. I'm tired of setting the throttle to 1 bar and having the SRV lurch all over the crash site like a drunken idiot with it's throttle bouncing from 1 bar to 7 bars and back again. Ridiculous. I can reproduce this effect constantly.

3. I have a video of trying to grab something in a ships panel above my head. It took FOREVER for the object UI to pop up so that I could take it. I basically had to slowly scan the pointer over the entire surface of the object to find the "sweet" spot to get the context menu to come up.

4. Redesign the cargo container mechanic at crash sites. After breaking the seal the canisters pop out hit the ground but the container becomes an obstacle for the SRV and once again the crappy SRV controls come into play. if you get stuck on the container you have to boost off and more than likely the fragile containers will get destroyed in the process. We should be able to pick up the smaller containers and 1 by 1 deposit them at the SRV or Ship.

5. Backpacks should be able to hold more items.

6. NPC's should have farmable loot like ammo, guns, med packs, and power supplies.

7. The on-foot scanner should be able to scan databanks from crashed ships and the on-foot radar should target humans and components like the SRV. The SRV can target fuses in panels, but the eye can miss it while looking right at the panel.

Yeah this has always been an odd one. I didn't think criminals were in APEX shuttles though, just one of their mates ships, so they should be wanted really.

Do you drive with Drive Assist on or off? Drive assist on is the default, and is awful, which sounds like what you're using? Off works much better.... functions more like a vehicle actually would (accellerates when you hit accelerate, slows down when you don't).

"Drive assist on" is basically like driving with a car's cruise control on permanently, and all you can do is set it higher or lower.

Yeah some of this stuff is glitchy as I've found :/

The whole bit where we have to cut the canister on foot then switch to the SRV is a complete pain as well... the surrounding terrain doesn't help that it's designed to be interesting for on-foot (read: terrible for an SRV) as well.
5. Backpacks should be able to hold more items.
Feels right to me tbh. Maverick + larger backpack pretty much allows me to swoop everything of relevance from a site... obviously I leave dump loot, but trying to collect everything like would be like trying to mine every single asteroid you find and wondering why your cargohold is full all the time (of methane calthrates to boot)
6. NPC's should have farmable loot like ammo, guns, med packs, and power supplies.
I dunno... I don't find equipment nor it's locations to ever be a concern... would also be weird to use ammo from non-matching weapons systems in your weapons systems considering ammo even though ammo from the ammo crates seems to be universal. That said, the stashes of stuff are an odd way to have players resupply to boot. It feels like a design choice was made for reasons we're yet to see be relevant, tbh.

I think the whole separation between Horzions and Odyssey assets isn't well defined, which is why we end up with the weird things like this. That's what you get when you make optional DLC I guess, but does get frustrating.

Wasn't always that way. Scav transports used to be wanted, so this is a deliberate change. Probably so you can't stuff up kill X counts or they thought it was too easy to kill the ship. 🤷‍♂️ And yeah, they are not taking Apex, it's their team dropping them off, which should be something players can also do. 🤷‍♂️

3. This is just due to random terrain height. Sometimes the compartment is just out of range of the UI due to placement and terrain generation. They could make it longer. 🤷‍♂️

4. Skip the middleman and just let us pick up mats.

5. They just increased this and tbh, most of it is trash once you get going and know what you're doing. I never an issue with the previous limit. 🤷‍♂️

They probably weren’t using Apex, the ship probably just hadn’t been detected as doing crime yet but even if the pilot was a crim no bounty makes them innocent so not a valid target.

Drive assist in the wrong mode possibly.

They can, someone on here was quite upset that just after they spent a lot of effort engineering increased backpack storage the new engineering changes increased the storage.

The scanner in the multi tonne SRV is probably a lot bigger and more powerful than the dinky stuff built into our suits.

That got removed years ago.

Drive assist is broken and was reported many times and never fixed. Drive assist used to work fine until some update broke it. Not using drive assist is a work around. Not a solution. I reported is but did not get enough votes. Only the usual: "Dont use DA it sucks"
