Odyssey inventory management

Coming back to ED after a few years away, just purchased Odyssey. I've searched for an answer, not found what I'm looking for.

How is consumable inventory managed, where's it stored. I've bought some med kits, few other items, where are they stored, at the current station, or on my current ship? I'm hoping it's at the station of purchase, to be freely moved from station to ship, or your backpack.

Thank you for the reply, but I'm still unsure of where consumables are stored. Where are the 50 medkits I purchased, stored on my current ship, or storage at the station where I purchased them?

So I have 16 ships at my current "home" station. I bought 50 medkits. If I leave the station in ship "x", do all the consumables I bought at my home station come with me on that ship, automatically? Or are they stored at the station where I can move them to whatever ship I feel like using that day, and or, to my backpack when on foot.

They are stored on your ship. You always have your bought consumables with you no matter the ship. The storage for them is universal, very much like your materials storage. When you disembark, you are automatically supplied with whatever your suit can carry, except e-breaches, you have to put them in your backpack yourself should you need them for your current activity.

Ah ok, so they just magically follow you around regardless of where you are, think I get it now. Thank you for the help.(y)

I mean, they're consumables. They travel with you in your hand luggage along with your passport and extra strong mints.
