Odyssey mission rewards: How to select them

So I did my first leg missions and expected to select the reward when I hand them in. But there was no option. The console just accepted my mission and paid some money. I wanted the mats, which i can neither select when accepting nor when handing in the mission. So, there were no mats for me.

This is completely different from Horizons missions. Why? Do I miss something or is it another of these grand design ideas that don't work.

Wish I could help. But I could never complete my first leg missions.
They sometimes seem to have you assassinate a target, even if it's a legal mission, and everyone around that target starts shooting at me and so I die. Makes no sense. Like my target will read Wanted and the guards don't seem to care, so once I take my weapon out? to open fire? They get mad at me for even just having my weapon out. And so I'd stowe it, wait for them to pass, take it out again, to kill the target and the guards like, "Hey that was the last warning pal" and they start opening fire.

I've not been able to pay(handin) any mission on foot since Alpha. It sounds like a different issue to yours and results in a server transaction error.

I have placed a ticket in for it.

works exactly like horizons, select the mission and then select the reward
From the completed missions menu select your mission

Then select one reward with the mouse or the hotas, keyboard etc, in this case i select the influence reward, just click in it.

This happens to me but on clicking the selected reward either nothing happens or it pops up an error window with Transaction failure. Really odd as certainly combat mission works ( via the military travel desk ) and I can collect bonds (and submit them)

Same here. All my missions had error on reward screen After relog I probably have reward, but same times mission cargo don't disappear from my storage.

yes many people have that error, i can´t help with that

With some of my last missions I could select the reward. But there are still cases where I just get the financial reward without the option to select a different one.

Thanks for the hint. Never had such a problem in Horizons. I might be wrong but I don't think that's what I did.

i don´t know, just for ruling out things! Never happen to me and i do a lot of odyssey mission. I just think in things that could happen.
