Odyssey Murder

On the same subject an old issue: 100cr fine shouldn't be a death sentence. Followed by destruction of my ship while I'm bleeding out.

If a colonist sees me with a scanner in clone mode, he should run and tell the authorities who would then chase me and apply the fine on the spot. Not pull a gun and aim for my nuts.

Can someone explain how on foot C&P works in Oddy. If i taser kill an NPC, that doesn't see me, and the murder is not witnessed am I supposed to have a crime/bounty modifier applied to me for that?

i believe there is a bug with it ...

i take the same assassination, raid, exterminate, "kill" missions ...
~ sometimes i walk through killing everything with no problems
~ sometimes i walk through killing everything and all of sudden the fine/bounty starts adding up

i completed an entire mission last night, not 1 alarm raised, not 1 npc spooked
but, when i got to the interior npc's i was receiving fines/bounty for every single one of them, even the guards

yes, same missions i have done before and for the same faction
but, something triggers the system and even though i succeed in the mission im now wanted and have to pay fines, go to jail and turn myself once more when im back at the terminal who just gave me the mission

🤷‍♂️ :alien:

Sounds like the difference between anarchy and otherwise surely?

Makes being an effective hitman difficult, since you know, everybody knows you were the one that did it. This should be changed to make stealth runs more rewarding.

Nope i'm getting bounties for stealth kills in Anarchy systems
That's not what I meant.

He was saying one settlement he gets bounties and another he doesn't. Sounds like one wasn't an anarchy.

To what you're saying, the system government is irrelevant. The settlement owning faction government type dictates the law. The one you attacked wasn't an anarchy faction.

no, im not in anarchy system or leaving the system that gives me the missions.

i dont know what it is ... i see the purple "illegal" mission give me fines/bounties but. the normal missions do too sometimes?

maybe, those "normal" missions are not tagged "illegal" when they should be?

As I said above, law is dictated by the faction that owns the settlement you're in. If you killed an npc and didn't get a bounty then it was owned by an anarchy faction.

The system laws are dictated by the system owning faction. That means nothing at settlement level.

You cannot get any bounty at an anarchy settlement. You can get a bounty in an anarchy system.
