Newcomer / Intro ODYSSEY - POWER REGULATORS..?

Anyone else only finding Degraded PRs in SRVs and crashed ships, so no use for suit upgrades?
Most, yes. A working power regulator is a rare drop, and will only be found occasionally while scavenging.
I think I've only found one or two, so far.

Yep, it's not a common drop. I've also found that they are sometimes in crash site POIs so now I check every POI that might have one to see if they are not degraded. But if you're farming find POIs with 2 chances of a regulator, more likely to get at least one, sometimes you get both.

Any news on this without illegal actions? Just mission reward?
Salvage missions that send you to crash sites are worth checking - if it's a crashed ship there will usually be one or two hatches that you can cut open (similar to the SRV in the tutorial) that might have regulators in. The crashed egg-shaped satellite also has one. At settlements, some layouts have wrecked SRVs lying around just like the tutorial - the medium extraction settlement with the long road separating the warehouse and production buildings can have up to three: one behind the warehouse, one by the production building, and at some sites a third in the depot. As long as none of the settlement personnel actually see you cut the thing open and swipe the regulator, you'll be fine.

Note that it's RNG whether the regulators in these drops are degraded or not - good ones are recognisable by their blue glow.

I've been trying to collect them without illegal missions or cheesing it. It's slow going but it's possible. The new protect missions offer them in 3 or 5 so if you have a team everyone can get some.

The standard way used to be to find a "reactivate station" mission, then just keep it. Alternatively, do the mission, loot the settlement and then take it back out and keep it.

Not entirely sure this still works.
