Odyssey private group question

I was in a private group and was on foot inside my carrier. One of the members in this group was also on foot inside the same carrier and we could not see each other. We were standing in the same hallway. Is something wrong here?

It is possible that the matchmaking system was unable to create a P2P connection between both members of the Private Group.

You weren't instanced together maybe, being in a private group is no different to being in open really as far as instancing works I think. I mean we have private groups with thousands of members. If you want to guarantee being instanced together you probably still need to wing up.

It happens even if winged up... instancing is a P2P thing, de-instancing (or lack of) is most of the times due to different connection bones/speed etc.

Oh yes that can happen, it does require a clear connection between the two players and many things can affect that including ISP connection sharing and firewalls, but you have a much better chance of instancing together if you are in the same wing.
