Odyssey purchasing question.

When the game first came out, I purchased Elite Dangerous from the Frontier store. Later on I retrieved my free Steam key so I could use both the Steam and Frontier launcher. When Horizons came out I purchased it on Steam and could still use both launchers.

Frontier changed this later on for new people purchasing Elite Dangerous. My question is will I still be able to use both launchers if I purchase Odyssey on Steam or will I be locked into Steam?

I have the exact same question and asked it in another thread. Please let me know if you get an answer before I do. I was looking to see if I can just reinstall ED fresh from the Frontier store so that in the future I can buy Odyssey directly from Frontier but once I sign in to the store it doesn’t show anything available for me to DL, even though I do see ED in my order history.
