Odyssey pvp fdl build

I'm in the middle of engineering a 2nd fdl (my 1st Is a nasty railer)
I've opted for the meta.
Namely 2 Long range rails with fc and sp. and 3 PAs.
Just wanted to know if thermal conduit on both size 2 PAs stacks? Or should I opt for dispersal field or tlb on one.?
Phasing seq on the huge pa?
All efficient? Can't l over charge the smaller ones or just the big one...get some heat hehe for the conduit buff.
I'm a railer so it's all new to me.
I'll link the build wen it's done.

Each weapon with TC will get the DPS bonus when you are over 100% heat, yes.

Ah ok....well I put one on tc, the other tlb.
Went efficient so l don't cook. Uses less power too.

I've disabled (not engineered yet) the interdictor.
Also the cargo bay disabled too.
Stacked shield boosters.
One thermal but I didn't opt for the resistance aug. Is resistance relevant?
But not bad for a night's work?

I wouldn’t put TC on just a single medium PA. That’s a big waste to be cooking your whole ship for a damage buff on a single class 2 PA.

Indeed,
you should go full TC - if you're going to cook all your ship, at least make it worth

Hehe lucky I tested it first. I'll have the size 2s as tc. Jeez ! The heat!
Damages the ship!
But you get 3 large balls come out hehe 2 of em hot !

Yay FDL!

Since I am not sure what sort of opponents you will be facing, I will just assume other PvPers.
If it is other PvPers, then one of the metas is 4 SRB rails and a huge corrosive OC MC, in addition to thermal conduit PAs and rails. You may already know that. :) Target Lock breaker is really annoying so it often is the second choice for experimental. PAs are mostly efficient with sometimes one short range PA to further increase heat. It's usually short range because less distributor draw than over charged.

Sometimes, PvPers will purposely hot bank right before they fire to get the TC heat bonus. In organized wing fights, it's not only about dps, but how fast you can do it. So how long your fights usually are will need to be considered also.

So your resistances want to be skewed towards thermal and kinetic if you expect a lot of railspam. Ofc, if you do organic it will differ.
So yeah, mirrored lightweight with deep plating so you have speed. It's an expensive rebuy for a medium.

I use 2 4A rapid charge recycling SCBS cause we are all paranoid about getting cascaded.
If you have enough power, then thermal spread because of imminent thermal conduit frying.

I like having two heat sinks.

But if you would like advice in gory detail, try:

The more specific you can be about who your opponents will be, the better the answer you will get.

:)

Were a small group who duel together sorta bringing one another on a bit.
Mirrored lightweight...? Ok ill make one.. shame about the heavier reactive that's in it atm.
Yeah I figured firing a scb does wonders for heat gen at the right moment.
I opted for B rated pair with Recycling boss cos that's what I'd saved lol.
Occasionally forays into the bubble to test me mettle.
I've got x2 mediums on tc now.
If I changed the big one to tc would that increase the heat gen as fired?
If not ill leave it be.
Tested in a high res yeah seems OK. Long range rails to keep em aggroed hehe.
Yes I've got a x4 short range railer too. With alot of sinks.
Both ships I'm trying to master.
Atm I'm better with the quad railer which yup has a huge rapid firing corrosive mc hehe.

I was and am better with the srb de lance, too. With PAs, it's about boost timing and range control. It is an art form. :)

If it's a PvP opponent you want to boost immediately after they boost, otherwise you will overshoot. I will link an excellent damage video in my next post. I really suck at boost timing.

I only built a PA meta FDL recently after over 3 years in elite and I thought I was starting to get it, until I fought a good pvp pilot: back to the drawing board.

I used a Dutchman build for awhile. And still do, occasionally. Its a huge corrosive OC MC and 4 medium PAs. You can also swap out a PA for a cascade rail.

My problem is locating the PA reticule with all the asteroids blocking the view. The MC reticule is much closer to the ship but it is on the same vector as the PA reticle. So basically I used the MC reticle to help me find the PA reticule. Of course, if I had better range control, I wouldn't need such crutches.

The skill level is really high in PvP. It could be an incredible e sport because cheating would be very difficult. At the highest levels it's about not making mistakes, timing and range control.

But yeah, it's a very steep learning curve. FA off is practically a requirement.

Unfortunately, ED is not policed at all and the cheating can easily slip through unnoticed
A 20-30% increase in shields can easily turn the tide. Same for a 30% increase in damage (similar to prem ammo)

Only an idiot cmdr would use cheats to make his ship invulnerable. A smart one would do it only to give themselves an edge.
And no one can tell, they can only suspect it. ☹️

Cheats in my experience need all the help they can get... cos their generally crap pilots.
I'll be venturing out soon once I've mastered this new build..bit quirky.
My railer is just rail frenzy with sinks popping left right n centre to offset heat.
And she's my goto ship cos I'm a railer.
But this new one ...mmm yeah I'll twiddle about with m8s and npcs till I've got the jist
