Odyssey question about perspective

I am hoping someone can help me with a minor issue I am having. I have been using a Vive in ED since May 2016. This week I purchased an Odyssey to compare the resolution bump (the Pro just seemed a bit excessive on the price). Here is my reoccurring problem. Most of the time when I play ED using the Odyssey, my perspective is "rooted" to my captain chair...i.e. when I lean forward or back, my perspective stays connected to the chair itself (it's exactly like playing Star Trek Bridge Crew). I can't look behind the chair, if I stand in real life, the game perspective remains sitting in the same spot. With the vive (and once in a while in the Odyssey), I can stand up, lean over and inspect things.

I can not figure out what is going on. I usually start ED and voice attack after SteamVR is already running. Does anyone have an idea as to what I'm doing wrong here? I thought that maybe I needed to use the Odyssey controllers to launch from the Steam page (I use a Xbox One controller instead of HOTAS), thinking that with just the xbox, it was defaulting to a seated position. But, that didn't seem to change anything. I have increased the play area, but that didn't change my situation. Any ideas? I like the bump in resolution, but the game loses it's immersive quality due to this strange hitch.

I assume you mean you do not have the 6 degrees of freedom and when you lean or move in any direction, the view remains static apart from where you look?

Make sure to run the room setup in the Windows Mixed Reality cliffhouse. You should also ensure the Vive is disconnected so there is no conflicts with what steam expects for tracking.

If you can move around in the cliffhouse then SteamVR is still trying to track your Vive.

I have an Odyssey and the way I run Steam VR games is direct from the Cliff House. I have a large desktop window open with a Steam Icon, once steam starts just pick your game.
