Odyssey reveal going toe to toe with Cyberpunk launch... Why?

As y'all know later on today we get the next reveal for Odyssey, but that this is also the day that the most awaited game of the year, cyberpunk 2077, is getting launched, surely this isn't an optimum plan?

Guess people are excited, but I'm not.

Im sure ill get it one day just to see the technical achievement, but not sure how much i enjoy cyberpunk themes. Its a bit too full on to ignore the gore, you would have to be into it i think.

I'm doing the same thing I did with Witcher 3. Wait until the complete edition for all DLCs and patches. Witcher 3 had some really bad bugs at launch, so there was no good reason to play it rather than wait for it to be finished up.

And you also end up getting the entire game for cheaper.

I thought my friends list on xbox would be lit up with everyone playing CP on launch day, but I only see one person playing it. Maybe everyones waiting for boxing day sales?

I honestly don't know why so many people losing their minds over Cyberpunk. I mean game looks nice, but it ain't going nowhere. Why spoil your first impressions by myriad of bugs, performance issues and only basic content, as every single game is shipped in our day and age? Besides, there are plenty of other games that are much more interesting at the moment.

In year or two it would be a gem, as others already mentioned.

Since it's a single player game with set end, waiting for Cyberpunk is only going to improve your first-time experience - the game will get patches and DLC for a long time, and you'll get a better price.

This patience for releases is something that the Epic Store exclusivity "strategy" around paying games so that they hold a monopoly on that game's sales has taught me. You can only get your first-time experience on a game once - why not do it when it has fully matured?

Two very different games. If anyone’s really interested in Odyssey I’m sure they’ll find a few minutes to watch the gameplay reveal.

I’ve been waiting for CP2077 for a long time but from what I’ve seen so far it sounds like it’s a buggy mess right now. I’m glad I didn’t pre order and I can wait a little longer for them to sort everything out. Maybe even for the complete edition.
