Odyssey: Ship-Feet-SRV loop

Please developers, allow to recall the SRV by pressing a button or whatever from the ship without going into the cockpit to call it.
This is very important for now as we don't have an interior development yet and also to have a fluid experience of exploration.
WIth this picture I show what I mean:
allow players to recall SRV from ground, so that they can get out of the cockpit but then after maybe the took some steps outside, from the ship then go on the back or wherever and say (press a button or UI even and ask for the SRV to pop out from the bay hangar.

See picture. (I am pressing a button virtually...)

Thanks. You surely understand what this would mean for the loop and also immersion... no sense to go to the cockpit to get the SRV out... Quite anti climatic present status.
Best Regards.

'Dispatch SRV hotkey'

Used while ship is landed, pops the SRV out, When used when ship is orbiting, calls ship in to drop it hot, and return to orbit.

Would like to add the ability to pick up SRV into the bay like cargo by hovering over it.

I like this.
Thanks, this game has so much stuff (anyway my bad) that I did not notice it, but they should insert if I can be more precise:
This in the "hologram" entry ladder point (where UI pops out asking you to "refill inventory or board", but also going directly to the poin where levers\buttons are onto the ship, this would make you feel the ship is "alive", it's interactible from outside besides the main purpose mentioned in the original message of fluidity of "surface operations gameplay", without solution of continuity. This creates flow and flow is one of the pillars of high quality gameplay, and we would believe more in the "stories" we are playing.

I wanna thank who read but also who didn't and will, and you Cmdr Tykwa, for the heads up, I did not know about that, I hope that "Dispatch SRV" is also featured on the "virtual wrist watch" we have... I did not notice it there.

So if there isn't one corresponding button on the (left side screen - when on food) wrist watch, then it's 3 the places they should intervene improving the desgin of this "phase".

  • Wrist watch button
  • Ship ladder Hologram (UI)
  • (most importantly and cool-ishly): levers\button on the belly or side belly of the ship (I say side because if u do it by being below it you should get maybe unconscious and ... later found by someone ...(accident).

Thanks!

This dlc feels so unfinished
I have some things to add. Joining conflict zones on foot is really difficult with rough terrain and hostile AA turrets. Very often the closes landing spot on mountainous worlds is two or more kilometers away.
  • Please allow us to disembark from low altitude like the frontline dropships do, even if the ship leaves immediately at least we can go back after the threat is dealt with
  • Secondly low altitude srv deployment would also be a great feature
Edit: am I crazy or did low altitude srv deployment used to be a thing?

I couldn’t possibly say.

You used to be able to board a hovering ship though if you could find somewhere with the right amount of unlandable terrain where you were recalling the ship.

One of the things they should allow is EVA and the role of mechanic to repair stuff, on stations, in ground settlments, your own ship, other people ship, your carrier... But related to the question and "distress" showed in the 2-3 posts above: what they need to introduce is a simple Eject option to become an escape pod or also the ejection FOR INSERTION button to drop out of the ship from below and then go in Jet pack mode (assist of 3 seconds which turns off and then it's up to us to control the descent... Do it too early and u finish the jet pack "parachute" and you nail into the ground...

This feature of 2 direction exit would allow so much of gameplay.
Internals should bring the walkable exit also so that you can go really calm and atmospheric EVA "mode on"... getting out from the (usually) back exit on our startships.

you only lack a friend. Let him stay onboard and tell him to drop the SRV. Problem solved.

And yes, you are right: Our ship should have got the function without having a friend onboard.

Yeah. I mean "Open the pod bay doors" has been a standard feature since the guys booted the first test version of that control system in 1997 in at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign ...
